FAQs
Are you NDAA compliant?
Yes. Tex-Air Drone offers several NDAA-compliant fleet options to meet the security requirements of government and enterprise projects.
Are you insured & bonded?
Absolutely. We are fully insured and can add your company as “additionally insured” with a simple request. We can also provide project-specific bonding if required.
What kind of weather is best for a mapping mission?
For optimal data accuracy, we recommend missions take place during low-wind periods with consistent lighting (either full sun or uniform overcast) to avoid heavy shadows or glare.
Are your pilots certified to fly drones?
Yes, all pilots are FAA Part 107 remote pilot certified and current.
What is your approach to workplace safety?
As part of our commitment to a professional and safe work environment, Tex-Air Drone has strict safety measures, including a preflight checklist, mission planning, and adherence to site-specific requirements. We maintain a drug-free environment with regular screening and enforce a zero-tolerance policy to ensure pilot, operational, & envoromental safety.
What photo resolution can I expect?
We provide highly detailed imagery up to 0.5cm/pixel, tailored specifically to the level of precision your project demands.
What is the difference between LiDAR and Photogrammetry as mapping tools? Which is better for my application?
LiDAR is best for high-precision 3D mapping through thick vegetation or in low light. Photogrammetry is ideal for high-resolution, color-accurate visual models of open sites. We will recommend the best tool based on your project goals.
What is the cost for your service?
Since every project has unique technical requirements and terrain challenges, we provide custom quotes on a case-by-case basis to ensure you only pay for what you need.
What file format do we use?
It depends on the deliverable you need. We capture data in .jpg, .tif, and .laz.
How will I receive my files?
Deliverables are typically shared via a secure cloud viewer link, detailed PDF reports, or shapefiles ready for your management software.
What is our turnaround time?
Standard deliverables are ready within 2–5 business days. More complex projects involving LiDAR for BIM, or Planimetrics may require additional processing time.
What security steps do you take to protect data from hackers and unauthorized individuals?
We take data security seriously. All processing is done on secure local networks, and our cloud-sharing partners utilize Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) and IP tracking.
How do I pay for your service?
We make billing simple with secure digital payment links that accept all major credit cards, debit cards, and ACH transfers.
How are we different from other drone companies?
We are regional experts, not a national franchise. By focusing on Texas, Oklahoma, and New Mexico, we provide faster response times, intimate knowledge of local terrain, and a personalized level of service that “big-box” providers can’t match.
